The following scholarships reflect only those administrated directly through the CAED. Each department has additional scholarships that they administer. To see a list of these scholarships, click on the appropriate Department Scholarships link to the right.

Douglas James Martin Scholarship
Jim and Barbara Martin established this scholarship in memory of their son, Douglas James Martin, who was the CAED's first specialized computer technician. This award is given to an undergraduate CAED student who shows special ability and excellence in the area of computer applications and computer skills related to architecture and environmental design.
Award Amount: $600
Eligibility:
- Open to students in any major in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Students with financial need as determined by CAED criteria.
- Preference to students with special ability and excellence in computer applications and computer skills related to architecture and environmental design.
Selection Process: The CAED Scholarship Committee, under the direction of the Associate Dean, will select the recipient from among qualified applicants.
2011 Recipient: Christina B. Hackett (ARCH)
Peter Tax & Adam Jarman Scholarship
Peter Tax and Adam Jarman established this award for students in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) who are participating in a Cal Poly recognized academic year-long study abroad program.
Award Amount: $300
Eligibility:
- Open to students in any major in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Students with financial need as determined by CAED criteria.
- Preference to students participating in a year-long study abroad program such as DIS in Copenhagen and the CSU Architecture program in Florence, Italy. Participants in the year-long student exchange program are also eligible to apply. The programs must have an existing exchange agreement with Cal Poly.
Students already participating in a year-long study abroad program are not eligible.
Selection Process: The CAED Scholarship Committee, under the direction of the Associate Dean, will select the recipient from among qualified applicants.

Robin L. Rossi Award
This award is part of a series of support opportunities provided by the donor and is open to all CAED majors. It is given in recognition of exceptional professional promise, achievement, and personal need. It is offered in the spirit of assisting a deserving student when most needed.
Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility:
- Open to students in any major in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Students with financial need as determined by CAED criteria.
- Preference to students with exceptional professional promise andachievement.
Selection Process: The CAED Scholarship Committee, under the direction of the Associate Dean, will select the recipient from among qualified applicants.
2011 Recipient: Pablo Delacruz Ramos, Jr. (ARCE)
CAED Jamba Juice Scholarship
The College of Architecture and Environmental Design has recently received a generous donation from Mr. Kirk Perron, founder of Jamba Juice, to fund four scholarships to be awarded to students enrolled in one of the five majors in the college.
Award Amount: 4 @$5,000
Eligibility:
- 1st - 5th year standing in either - Architectural Engineering, Architecture, City and Regional Planning, Construction Management, or Landscape Architecture.
- Must have applied for Financial Aid and show financial need (grant or subsidized loan eligible) as confirmed by the Financial Aid Office.
- Preference to applicants who have worked or are working at Jamba Juice (Verification may be requested as a part of the award process).
- Preferred minimum 3.00 GPA.
Selection Process: The CAED Scholarship Committee, under the direction of the Associate Dean, will select the recipients from among the qualified applicants.
Recipient's Responsibility: Letter of appreciation to the donor with a copy to the CAED Dean's Office.
2011 Recipients: Dion J. Dekker (ARCH), Lisa M. Frost (LARC), Rachael L. Haacke (LARC), and Lisa M. Henry (ARCE)
Carson Starkey Memorial Scholarship
Julia and Scott Starkey established this scholarship program for excellence with Cal Poly State University for students in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design.
Award Amount: 2 @ $5,000
Eligibility
- Open to students in all majors in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
- Students must be in 2nd-4th year standing.
- One scholarship shall be need-based, the second scholarship will be merit-based.
Selection Process: The CAED College administrative office, under the direction of the Associate Dean and in consultation with the Director of Financial Aid, will administer the award.
Recipients' Responsibility: Letter of appreciation to the donors with a copy to the CAED Dean's Office.
