The Christine P. Brown & Dorothy L. Perry CAEDF Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Third-, fourth- or fifth-year undergraduates and master's candidates enrolled full-time during the 2009-2010 academic year in one of the majors in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Art & Design or Animal Science.

Criteria: This award is made on the following basis:

Selection Process: The Awards Committee consisting of one (1) CAEDF board member, one (1) emeritus Cal Poly architecture faculty member and a relative of Mrs. Brown will review applications and may, at their discretion, interview finalists prior to making the award. An award will be made only if the committee finds a suitable candidate.

Application: The applicant is to provide the following information in a ½", 3-ring binder or in a hard cover folder with the name of the scholarship on the front cover or spine of the folder:

  1. A written statement pertinent to the criteria listed above; and
  2. An applicant information form on the backside of this flyer. Content and organization of the written submission are at the discretion of the applicant. Style, coherence and pertinence of the application material will be an important consideration for judgment.

2009 Recipient: Josephine K. Brown (LARCH)

Peter Tax & Adam Jarman Scholarship

Peter Tax and Adam Jarman established this award for students in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) who are participating in a Cal Poly recognized academic year-long study abroad program.

Eligibility:

Students already participating in a year-long study abroad program are not eligible.

Selection Process: The CAED Scholarship Committee, under the direction of the Associate Dean, will select the recipient from among qualified applicants.

Alice C. Loh Scholarship
Recognizing Women's Contributions in Environmental Design

The endowment that funds this award was established by Landscape Architecture Professor Alice C. Loh. This award is given to an outstanding CAED student in the Landscape Architecture or Architecture programs, regardless of gender.

Eligibility:

Criteria: The award will be given to the student demonstrating the highest scholastic achievement based on a combination of their overall Cal Poly grade point average and the grades they have received in design courses. Scholastic achievement will be determined by:

2009 Recipient: Charles E. Kollmann (LARCH)

Warren Ludvigsen Memorial Scholarship

A $300 scholarship will be awarded to a continuing student in one of the majors in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED). The scholarship award is granted on the basis of scholastic achievement, financial need and leadership ability.

2009 Recipient: Not Awarded

Dr. Glenn G. McRae Internship

One of the principal intentions of the award is to rekindle the caring spirit so aptly demonstrated by Dr. McRae during his counseling career at Cal Poly and his assignment to work with CAED students and assist them in life's problems.

This award is shared among four students. The selected interns will provide graphics and design tutorial assistance in the CAED's learning assistance program.

Eligibility: Open to all junior or senior level students (3rd, 4th, or 5th-year students) in the CAED.

Criteria:

Selection Process: The CAED College administrative office, under the direction of the Associate Dean, will administer the award.
